REGULATIONS MELGHAMRI
By booking an appointment, you declare that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions. They have been established to ensure your safety and to optimise the results of your treatment.
GENERAL RULES
Appointments & Arrival Time
We kindly ask you to ring the bell exactly at the time of your appointment. During ongoing treatments, it may not be possible to open the door immediately unless multiple staff members are present.
- π In Antwerp: You may enter immediately and take a seat in the waiting area at the end of the hallway.
- π In Brussels and LiΓ¨ge: Please only ring the bell at your appointment time. Arriving early may disrupt ongoing treatments.
We kindly ask you not to call the institute before your reserved time slot.
Delays
Clients who arrive late will lose part of their scheduled treatment time. If another appointment is scheduled right after yours, we will be required to end the session at the original time.
In case of delay, please inform us in due time via one of the following numbers:
π Melghamri Antwerp: +32 694 60 252
π Melghamri Brussels: +32 490 12 67 25
Note:
If the delay is such that the treatment can no longer take place, the previously paid deposit will be retained as compensation. A new deposit will be required to book a new appointment.
Deposit, Refund and Cancellation Policy
When booking an appointment, a deposit of 50% of the total treatment cost is required.
If the appointment is not cancelled at least 3 to 4 days in advance, or if the client does not show up without prior notice and a valid reason, the deposit will be forfeited. In such cases, a new deposit is required before a new appointment can be scheduled.
Why 3 to 4 days in advance?
Our schedule is limited and can only be adjusted if there is enough time to replace your slot with another client following a similar treatment plan.
In case of cancellation:
A written proof of the reason for cancellation (e.g. a medical certificate) is required to consider any exception to the deposit policy.
Repeated cancellations:
If a client cancels twice without a valid reason or fails to show up, we reserve the right to refuse any further appointments. In such cases, the client will be placed on our internal exclusion list (so-called βblacklistβ) and will no longer be admitted to treatments at melghamri.
Refund Policy
After a treatment has been carried out, no refunds are possible. The payment is considered compensation for the service provided, regardless of the achieved result or any changes in personal circumstances.
As the outcome of aesthetic treatments partly depends on individual factors beyond Melghamriβs control, the absence of an expected result cannot constitute grounds for a refund, price reduction, or any form of compensation.
No Children Allowed
To ensure the safety of our equipment and to maintain a calm and relaxing environment for all our clients, we kindly ask that no children are brought to the institute.
Due to previous incidents, we are unfortunately unable to make any exceptions to this rule. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
TEETH WHITENING: SPECIFIC CONDITIONS
Specific conditions apply to ensure a safe and effective teeth whitening treatment:
Before the Treatment:
- The client must be free of dental issues, such as cavities, gum inflammation, or recent dental procedures.
- Artificial dental elements (such as crowns, veneers or fillings) cannot be whitened. As a result, the final shade may vary.
- We kindly ask you to have a proper meal before your appointment.
- The treatment cannot be performed during pregnancy.
Aftercare & Advice:
- For 2 hours after the treatment: do not eat, drink, or smoke.
- For 24 to 48 hours: avoid foods and drinks that contain strong colorants (such as coffee, tea, red wine, tomato sauce).
- Follow a βwhite dietβ to prevent staining.
- Maintain good oral hygiene.
At home, use our V34 whitening toothpaste and a quality whitening mouthwash to neutralize yellow tones and keep your teeth bright and fresh. These products help significantly extend the results of your session.
π£ Tip: The V34 toothpaste is available on the day of your treatment for β¬15 instead of β¬25 β exclusively for treated clients and only available on-site.
π« Contraindications:
The treatment will not be performed in the following situations:
- Pregnancy
- Active cavities, inflammation, or other dental problems
- Hypersensitive enamel or dental erosion
- Use of braces or retainers
- Recent dental work (less than 2 weeks ago)
- Bruxism or jaw-related disorders
Important: If you are unsure about your dental health, we strongly recommend consulting your dentist before booking a session.
SKIN TREATMENTS: SPECIFIC CONDITIONS
For intensive skin treatments such as chemical or medical peels, microneedling and similar procedures, the following guidelines must be strictly followed to ensure a safe and effective result:
Skin Preparation:
- Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds for at least 7 days prior to the treatment.
- Do not use exfoliating products, retinol or vitamin A derivatives for at least 3 to 5 days before the treatment.
- Avoid other intensive treatments such as waxing, dermabrasion or laser procedures within the week leading up to the session.
π« Contraindications (peels, microneedling, etc.)
Intensive skin treatments are not suitable or are temporarily discouraged in the following situations:
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding (for certain types of peels)
- Use of retinol, vitamin A creams, AHA/BHA acids within 3β5 days prior
- Use of Roaccutane (up to 3 months after stopping)
- Active acne breakout, rosacea, eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area
- Active herpes (cold sores) or other skin infections
- Open wounds or damaged skin
- Sensitive or reactive skin (e.g. couperose, allergies to ingredients)
- Recently performed cosmetic procedures (such as botox, fillers, laser, dermabrasion β within 2 weeks)
- Poor wound healing or tendency to form keloids
- Autoimmune diseases or dermatological conditions under treatment
- Hypersensitivity to acids or anesthetics (if applicable)
- Use of blood-thinning medication (especially for microneedling)
Important: If you have any doubts regarding your health or skin condition, please consult your doctor or dermatologist before booking a treatment.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS β LASER HAIR REMOVAL: Candela GentleMax PRO & PRO+
Nature of the Treatment
The Candela GentleMax PRO & PRO+ is a medically certified laser system designed for permanent hair reduction. The treatment is individually tailored to the clientβs skin type, hair colour, hair thickness, and hair growth cycle. Thanks to an integrated cooling system (ZIMMER), the procedure is generally well tolerated.
The treatment may also result in a slight reduction of hyperpigmentation. This is considered a beneficial side effect, but it is not the primary objective of the procedure.
Number of Sessions and Results
The number of sessions required varies per individual and cannot be precisely determined in advance. On average, 8 sessions are necessary to achieve optimal results.
Factors such as hair thickness, hair colour, skin type, hormonal status, and the treated area influence the final outcome.
After each session, a hair reduction of approximately 20% β 30% can be expected. The final result typically reaches 80% β 95% hair reduction.
Clients with hormonal imbalances may require more than 8 sessions.
In rare cases (e.g., specific endocrine disorders), paradoxical hair growth may occur. For this reason, treating fine, vellus facial hair is not recommended (except for the upper lip and the area between the eyebrows).
A small percentage of clients may not respond adequately to laser treatments. This cannot be determined in advance.
Although extremely rare, some treated dark hairs may depigment and turn white or grey. This change is usually temporary, and in most cases, the natural pigmentation returns spontaneously.
Treatment Interval and Programme Adherence
During the initial phase, the treatment interval is typically 5β6 weeks, which may later be extended to 7β12 weeks.
Note: Before each session, clients are requested to take photos of their hair growth to help assess the hair cycle.
For optimal results, it is essential to follow the treatment plan consistently. Skipping or delaying sessions can slow down results and may require additional treatments.
To maintain results, 1β2 maintenance sessions per year are recommended (or 3 per year in cases of hormonal imbalance).
Preparation and Hygiene
The areas to be treated must be carefully shaved 24 hours before the session. If a depilatory cream is used, it should be applied at least 48 hours prior to treatment.
Note: For facial areas, use a clipper or trimmer. Do not use a razor blade or dermapen, as this may stimulate hair growth.
Poorly shaved areas will not be treated due to the increased risk of burns and reduced effectiveness. If staff perform the shaving, an additional fee of β¬15 will be charged for a small area.
To ensure hygiene within the clinic, only staff members are permitted to shave clients.
For hygienic reasons, labia and the intergluteal cleft (buttock crease) are not shaved by staff.
Note: If a client arrives insufficiently shaved and requests a second session within a short time, an additional fee of β¬35 (maximum 15 minutes) will be charged.
Exfoliate the skin twice a week between sessions to encourage hair shedding. Shaving is not recommended during the first 2β3 weeks after a session. Limit shaving to a maximum of two times between treatments.
Wearing laser safety goggles during treatment is mandatory.
Menstruation
For hygienic reasons, we ask clients to use a tampon during their menstruation, including on the final day. Without a tampon, the bikini area will not be treated.
The buttocks area will also not be treated; clients are requested to wear underwear during the session.
If a tampon is not used, other areas may still be treated, and a separate appointment will be scheduled for the bikini area. The client is expected to attend the appointment to avoid losing the deposit.
Sun Exposure and Cosmetic Products
Exposure to sunlight or tanning beds is strictly prohibited for at least 6 weeks before and 2 weeks after the treatment. Always use a SPF 50 sunscreen on treated areas.
Self-tanning products must not be used for 6 weeks before or after the treatment.
Skin-lightening creams should be discontinued 5 days before the session and can be resumed 3 days after treatment.
Do not apply cosmetics (such as make-up, creams, deodorant, perfume, or essential oils) on the treated areas on the day of treatment.
ODOREX or AXITRANS: Excessive sweating after laser treatment may occur due to very short hair or a higher number of hairs in the underarm area. Odorex or Axitrans can help reduce this effect (do not use them before the session).
Post-Treatment Activities
Avoid sports or strenuous physical activity for 24 hours after treatment.
Do not take hot showers on the day of treatment, and avoid saunas, hammams, or spas for 1 week.
Intensive facial treatments (such as chemical peels or microneedling) are prohibited for 1.5 weeks before and after the session.
Prohibited During the Treatment Programme
Waxing, plucking, and electrolysis of the treated areas are strictly prohibited throughout the treatment course.
The use of oral hair growth supplements is strongly discouraged, as these can negatively affect treatment results.
Health and Medication
Clients must inform the practitioner before each session about any medications they are taking, particularly antibiotics and photosensitising medications or creams.
Laser treatments are not performed during pregnancy.
Hormonal fluctuations (e.g., during pregnancy, puberty, menopause, or due to hormonal imbalances) can stimulate hair growth.
The skin must not be damaged in the treatment area (e.g., tattoos, recent scars, burns, psoriasis).
Side Effects and Complications
Normal skin reactions include redness, perifollicular oedema, and mild swelling, which typically resolve within 2β3 days.
In rare cases, acne, folliculitis, or allergic reactions may occur. If symptoms are severe or persistent, the client must contact the practitioner immediately.
Burns may occur if preparation instructions are not followed (e.g., inadequate shaving, sun exposure, use of contraindicated medication or cosmetics).
The client is responsible for informing the practitioner in advance of any conditions that may increase the risk of side effects.
Preferred Practitioners
Treatments are carried out by a qualified team member scheduled on the day of the appointment. While preferences are taken into account, a specific practitioner cannot always be guaranteed.
FINAL PROVISIONS β MELGHAMRI
By booking a treatment, the client declares that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
These terms and conditions may be modified without prior notice. The most recent version is always available on our website.
In the event of any doubt or ambiguity, the interpretation of the clinic is binding.
